RV Pilot Lights
The pilots lights on all RV’s fail sooner or later. The pilot has a tiny little propane gas orifice, a small opening that lets out just the right amount of propane to mix with air so it burns a bright blue colour. When this hole orifice gets compromised with dust and grime, the flame will burn weak and yellow and the water heater will fail entirely. The best way to clean it out is blow a combination of compressed air and rubbing alcohol through the orifice, in the same direction the propane normally flows. To do this properly, it is necessary to disconnect the pilot line from the valve as shown in the photo.. Never blow compressed air into the valve itself, as that may damage it beyond repair.
